You can imagine the meeting in Nissan’s press office. Everyone sat round a table wondering how best to demonstrate the speed and agility of the latest 2017 Nissan GT-R. A tricky proposition, since the GT-R has been around since 2007 and we’re well aware of how fast and agile it is.

Then someone stuck their hand up and suggested they stage a race against… a drone.

Now, that may seem like a fairly one-sided contest, but this is no ordinary drone we’re talking about. This is a full-one, top-of-the-range racing drone capable of 0-62mph in 1.3secs and 115mph flat-out. Plus it can turn on sixpence.

Champion racer James Bowles is at the controls of the drone, chasing down GT Academy graduate Ricardo Sanchez as he lobs the GT-R around Silverstone’s tight and twisty Stowe Circuit.

You can probably guess the result, but it’s a fun watch.

Currently you will find him clicking on a mouse vigorously and uploading his passion all over the site.
