McLaren has a big presence at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, unveiling several cars fettled by McLaren Special Operations.

Grabbing the headlines is this McLaren P1 sporting a livery inspired by the helmet worn by four-time Formula One champion Alain Prost. The Frenchman – known as The Professor – took three of titles while driving for McLaren.

But the P1 is sure to be completely upstaged by the incredibly rare McLaren F1 GT. Just three examples were built to homolgate the ‘longtail’ F1 GTR for GT1 racing. The car has been loaned to McLaren for Goodwood and probably has its own security team – we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s insured for an eight-figure sum.

Elsewhere on the McLaren House stand, a 675LT wearing a colour scheme inspired by long-time McLaren racer Denny Hulme’s helmet will be on display alongside a 650S Spider painted the same bright orange as McLaren’s early race cars.
