Rally driver Ben Gott started out working for his fathers specialist Land Rover garage and took up competing as a means to advertise the business.
It was a humble start, racing home-built Landrovers through Welsh forests, but it set Ben on a journey that would ultimately lead to the start line of the Dakar Rally, the single toughest motor race in the world.
As it turned out, that first attempt at the Dakar was only another beginning. In the years since, Ben has become one of the most experienced British drivers on the event which led to him getting involved with the Race2Recovery team, which aimed to get injured ex-service personnel to the finish of the Dakar.
Its been a long and winding road for Ben, full of unexpected turns. Only Motors met Ben to find out all about it.
