BMW M5 unveiled in Need for Speed

BMW M5 in Need for Speed Payback 2017

HOW times have changed.

At the start of this century cars were unveiled at motor shows with glamorous women standing next to them.

Now they are revealed in a RACING GAME.

The new BMW M5 2018 has been included in a trailer for the racing game Need for Speed Payback 2017 which is out later this year.

Despite BMW desperately trying to keep their new M5 under wraps until the Geneva Motor Show, it looks like the hotly-anticipated car has been unofficially unmasked in the Need for Speed Payback cover.

Need for Speed Payback has used what appears to be the new 2018 BMW M5 as part of its promotional material, with the car featuring on two covers for the video game.

One is included as part of the ‘Deluxe Edition’ box art, which gives a closer look at the front-end of the new M5.

Unlike its predecessor, the new BMW has different headlights, a redesigned front grille and air intakes.

The new all-wheel M5 is set to be the fastest M-car currently on sale, with BMW confirming hitting 62mph in just 3.5 seconds.

Powering the new car will be a 4.4-litre twin-turbocharged V8 which is has been developed from the previous generation and is expected to produce around 462bhp.

In the game the new M5 will feature alongside other supercar exotica, as you would expect, like the Lamborghini Aventador, Ford Mustang GT and Porsche Panamera Turbo.

In Need for Speed Payback, players will drive as three characters with the joint goal of taking down ‘The House’ which EA has described as “a nefarious cartel that rules the city’s casinos, criminals and cops.”

What the heck is a “nefarious cartel”? It’s worth getting the game for just to find that out!

Need for Speed Payback will be available on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC via Origin and will be released on November 10, 2017.

The Beemer screamer is out next year.

But you’ll be able to ‘drive’ it first in this game. Welcome to the 21st century of motoring!
