Lego has created this full-size replica of the McLaren Senna – and it’s awesome.
With it’s cutting-edge aero, the Senna has perhaps the most intricately detailed exterior of any car currently on sale. Yet Lego’s modellers have replicated every single detail.
So intricate is the Senna that 467,854 individual Lego bricks were needed to build it. To put that into perspective, a Lego McLaren 720S was built a couple of years ago with 200,000 fewer bricks.
The 10-strong build team took 2,725 hours to piece the Senna together – the real Senna takes just 300 hours to construct. Nearly 5,000 thousand hours went into the project from start to finish, involving 42 people.
The Lego Senna was built to mark the launch of the new Forza Horizon 4 Lego Speed Champions expansion pack. The Lego Speed Champions McLaren Senna set is playable in the game and there’s a whole Lego-based world to explore with various races, challenges and a new Lego city.
The game launches later this week and costs £15.99 – or comes free in a bewildering selection of bundles.
