The European Le Mans Series moves to Italy this weekend for a four-hour race at Imola, the second race of the 2014 season. The started in April at the 4 Hours of Silverstone. That race was by Thiriet by TDS Racing Oreca-Nissan, driven by French trio Pierre Thiriet, Ludovic Badey and Tristan Gommendy.
The race was closely fought, with the top six finishers all crossing the line on the lead lap in their top-class LMP2 prototype sports cars. Equally, the top six in the LMGTE GT car class finished within two laps of each other, the win going to the AF Corse Ferrari 458 Italia of Duncan Cameron, Matt Griffin and Michele Rugolo.
Predicting the winner at Imola is next to impossible, as all the leading teams are capable of winning. However, the Thiriet by TDS team will be looking to continue their success on from Silverstone and pick up a second consecutive win Imola. But who ultimately prevails will come down to strategy and luck.
