Ford Fiesta flies 50 metres in the air

Mads Ostberg Ford Fiesta WRC

THINK of five double decker buses in height, then lay them down on their side.

That’s around 50 metres. And a Fiesta has just jumped that recently.

No it was an Evel Knievel stunt.

It was actually in a Ford Fiesta WRC car flying through the air during the Ouninpohia stage of Rally Finland, as you can see in this clip.

Behind the wheel was a Mads bloke, as you might imagine. Full name Mads Ostberg.

This Norwegian nutter kept pedal to metal right over what is called the blind ‘Yellow House Jump’.

The result was the humble Ford Fiesta taking off an landing 50 metres down the dusty track.

Believe it or not, it wasn’t the longest jump on record, that’s 58 metres so it was a disappointing effort by Mads. Just kidding.

But at least this Norwegian can start marketing his reinforced underpants.
