In a year with many highly anticipated cars, the Jaguar F-Pace was by far one of the most highly anticipated.
Even though the F-Pace hasn’t officially rolled off the production line and into showrooms, it appears that the British manufacturer has another crossover up their sleeve.
The F-Pace serves as the company’s first ever SUV and now Jag are apparently readying up their first ever electric car in the form of an electric variant of the F-Pace called, the E-Pace.
Sources have stated that Jaguar plans for their first all-electric vehicle to also be a crossover. Those sources have also stated to expect a slightly sleeker looking crossover with “active and passive aerodynamic aids to help the E-Pace target a drag coefficient of 0.28”.
With a drag coefficient of around 0.28 that would make the E-Pace one of the world’s most aerodynamic crossovers ever.
The E-Pace won’t be an electric variant of the F-Pace. It is most likely to be slightly smaller in size than the new F-Pace. Like most EVs these days it will more than likely have all-wheel drive electric motors driving the axles or each wheel for added all conditions traction.
If the Jaguar E-Pace does come to fruition it will have some stiff competition in the electric crossover segment from Tesla who recently announced the Model X and Audi who unveiled the E-Tron Quattro concept back at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
