Ian Cook – a.k.a Pop Bang Colour – has become something of a cult figure in the car world over the last few years.

He trained as an artist and taught for while then, essentially on a whim, tried painting with a remote-controlled car he’d been given.

Little did he know that experiment would become a career. His colourful, uniquely stylised paintings, using RC cars as brushes, quickly came to the attention of the wider world and Ian soon found himself with commissions from shows, manufacturers, PR agencies and magazines.

His work even became a sort of performance art, large crowds gathering to watch him create with his RCs.

He’s now one of the most in-demand motoring artists there is, with constant performances, commissions and a huge social media following.

Only Motors caught up with Ian at his new digs at Fargo Village in Coventry.

About The Author

Web Editor

Graham King is the web editor which basically means if it's on this site and it looks great then he had a lot to do with it. If it looks rubbish then that was done on the one day a year he had off. As a quiet man who loves everything about cars, Graham is not known for his talking or walking which is actually kind of ironic because his name appears in both words. Currently you will find him clicking on a mouse vigorously and uploading his passion all over the site.
