Lamborghini have revealed the Aventador SV Roadster at the Pebble Beach Concours. The open-top hypercar, dubbed the Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4 SuperVeloce Roadster, will be going on sale for around £350,000 before it eventually arrives in the UK next year.

The Aventador SV Roadster follows the same limited-production run as the coupe with only 500 examples of the open-top hypercar planned to go on sale.

Performance-wise there are no changes in power as the Aventador SV Roadster fires out the same 740bhp from the 6.5L V12 that is in the Aventador SV.

While power remains the same, the weight has increased by 50kg from 1,525kg to 1,575kg most likely due to the usual body and chassis strengthening wizardry that goes in to making a car topless.

On the topic of weight, the Aventador SV Roadster’s roof, which has been optimised in a wind tunnel, is said to weigh just 6kg thanks to its carbon fibre build. The roof also has a quick release system while the cabin has a glass rear screen for use as a wind deflector when the roof is down.

Even still the Aventador SV Roadster does 0-62mph in 2.9s, only 0.1s slower than the coupe Aventador SV. If you thought that was impressive, it doesn’t stop there with the Aventador SV Roadster as the top speed is 217mph, exactly the same as it’s not-so-roofless counterpart.

Inside the Aventador SV Roadster is the same stripped out interior from the Aventador SV with blends of carbon fibre, alcantara and leather used across different components.

Only 500 Lamborghini Aventador SV Roadsters will be made with each costing at least £350,000, almost £30,000 more than the Aventador SV.
