The present Land Rover Discovery is not long for this world, due to be replaced by an all-new model next year. As has become traditional, Land Rover has launched a pair of special editions to signal the Disco’s passing.
First up is the Discovery Landmark (the orange car pictured) which starts as the HSE Luxury model. Since it has every single gadget available on a Discovery already, the Landmark just receives cosmetic changes. Exterior tweaks include black front wing vents, grille and mirror casings, along with silver badging and 20in wheels. There’s a choice of five colours including the, err, eye-catching, unique-to-model Zanzibar shade pictured.
Inside, there’s extra leather on the dashboard, doors and fascia. Among the colour choices is a unique-to-model tan. The price is set at £55,995, £4,000 less than the HSE Luxury.
The Discovery Graphite is specced to the same level as the SE Tech model, but is again essentially a cosmetic package based on the Black Pack. As such, it gets graphite detailing on the vents, grille, door handles and badging. It rides on unique 19in wheels, finished in gloss dark grey and there’s a choice of nine body and three interior colours. The Disco Graphite is priced at £47,495.
Both the Landmark and Graphite are powered by a 253bhp, 3.0-litre SDV6 diesel engine, hooked up to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. Land Rover claims 36.7mpg and 203g/km of CO2.
