Mat Jackson the second round of the 2016 British Touring Car Championship at Donington Park with an assured win in Race 1. Starting from third on the grid, he capitalised on a slow start by pole man Ash Sutton to grab the lead on the first lap. From there, he simply drove off into the distance.

Mat followed the win with second in Race 2 but slumped to 14th in Race 3, just inside the points. Still, it was a strong weekend for the Motorbase Ford Focus driver and he went home holding fifth place in the Drivers’ Championship standings.

Only Motors’ roving BTCC reporter, Lewis Maundrell, caught up with Mat to get his thoughts on that Race 1 win.

Graham King is the web editor which basically means if it's on this site and it looks great then he had a lot to do with it. If it looks rubbish then that was done on the one day a year he had off. As a quiet man who loves everything about cars, Graham is not known for his talking or walking which is actually kind of ironic because his name appears in both words. Currently you will find him clicking on a mouse vigorously and uploading his passion all over the site.
