McLaren always puts on a big display at the Pebble Beach Concours in California, which comes around again this weekend (16 August).

McLaren Special Operations, the in-house bespoke department, is taking the opportunity to show off what it can do with the new McLaren 570S. This is the car in question, resplendent in Mauvine Blue, or purple to you and me.

The colour also picks out small details of the interior, which is otherwise swathed in carbon black leather. There’s lots of bare carbonfibre outside, as well. A bright orange 570S wearing styling details from the MSO Defined catalogue will also be on display.

Elsewhere on its stand, McLaren will show the 675LT and 650S Le Mans limited-run editions – both sold out – and the ex-Team Bigazzi F1 GTR, which finished eighth at Le Mans in 1996.

There will be more McLaren interest away from the manicured lawns of the concours, as both RM Sotheby’s and Gooding & Co. will auction a McLaren P1. It’s the first time the hybrid hypercar has been offered at auction; all 375 P1 owners will be watching as the sales effectively set the market price. RM also has a 1998 McLaren F1 with LM upgrades, which will almost certainly sell for an eight-figure sum.
