Special Overfinch Defender marks anniversary

Overfinch has celebrated its 40th anniversary by unveiling a new special edition Land Rover Defender.

The specialists at Overfinch have created just five Overfinch Defenders that will all be created by the original Land Rover enhancement company.

As well as the Overfinch 40th anniversary, the Overfinch Defender will also mark the end of Land Rover’s production of the Defender.

Features on the Overfinch defender include individually numbered plaques for each vehicle, the signature Overfinch bonnet with a front grille that contrasts with the rest of the bodywork.

On top of those features there is also the front bumper from the SVX model, chequered plating and the side sills and rear quarter panels are finished in black satin.

Other exterior features include a swing away rear arm, a rear step with an electric tow bar, upgraded rear LED lighting and painted mirror backs. The Overfinch specific cues top off the exterior Overfinch branding on the aluminium fuel cap and the exterior door handles.

Inside the special edition Overfinch Defender gets the complete Overfinch leather trim package that features bespoke Recaro front seats with the 40th anniversary crest stitched into the headrest.

The rear folding seats, passenger grab handle, roof headlining and the dashboard top are also finished in a premium leather.

Being a 40th anniversary model it’s no surprise the Overfinch Defender features pretty much every possible package that is currently offered for Defenders. Overfinch’s Control Pack is also added to this anniversary vehicle with more premium leather on the gear stick, range selector, handbrake and steering wheel.

Even though the Defender is a tough, go-anywhere vehicle, this is probably one of the most luxurious Defenders in existence with a Bluetooth connected Alpine sat nav, DAB radio and a reversing camera also thrown into the anniversary special.

Overfinch Chairman, Kevin Sloane, said:

“This special edition vehicle offers owners the chance to own a piece of exclusive Overfinch and Defender history. The Defender is arguably the world’s most famous car and Overfinch is the global leader in Land Rover enhancements, so it is fitting that the original Land Rover marks our 40th anniversary.”

The vehicles aren’t cheap, the 40th anniversary Overfinch Defender is priced at just over £70,000. That’s Range Rover money.

Having said that, there’s no doubt this limited edition will sell out rather quickly as the limited edition Overfinch Defender features possibly the most complete Land Rover Defender package.
