Civic Tourer Active Life Concept

This is the Honda Civic Tourer Active Life Concept, a car built to highlight the standard Civic Tourer’s class leading cargo space.

This particular concept is set to show that style and space can work together with Honda giving the Active Life concept a custom paint scheme and an accessorised interior that demonstrates the car’s suitability for an active lifestyle.

The Honda Civic Tourer Active Life concept makes full use of its incredible maximum of 1,668 litres boot space when the seats are folded flat by utilising the unique centre fuel tank layout and a low loading height.

Features on the concept in particular include a loading rack capable of transporting two bicycles, along with a retractable arm which can be extended from the rack to assist any maintenance and repairs to be made to the bike.

There are more maintenance accessories such as a built in integrated air pump, a large light on the tailgate, an extended shade area and a retractable bench.

The Civic Tourer Active Life concept is clearly built as an ideal vehicle for cycling enthusiasts with a deep line of accessories continuing with the inclusion of a toolbox, bottle holder, water tank and a front wheel holder which are all integrated within the trunk side lining.

Other clever storage solutions include a special aero shape roof box designed to accommodate essential cycling accessories such as shoes and helmets.

I think it is fair to say that this is certainly one of the most well equipped cars in terms of equipment and storage in particular.

Styling on the Civic Tourer Active Life Concept is said to reflect the sporty and active lifestyle of the customer and it certainly looks pretty good with its custom blue paint finish and silver roofline. The interior also features a customised sporty theme with blue stitching on the steering wheel and on the gear stick.

Incredibly all of this style and practicality don’t effect the efficiency as Honda recently set a new world record for fuel efficiency, averaging 100.31mpg over 8,387 miles across 24 countries in the Honda Civic Tourer 1.6 i-DTEC.

While it isn’t noted if the Civic Tourer Active Life concept thas that engine, it’s more than likely if it were to go into production that it would feature.

The Honda Civic Tourer Active Life concept will make its full public debut at next week’s Frankfurt Motor Show.
