Volvo XC90 R-Design

The new Volvo XC90 is already an award winning car and it appears Volvo aren’t entirely done fettling the XC90 range as they have now launched the Volvo XC90 R-Design.

The R-Design features various visual, dynamic and equipment upgrades to give the seven-seat XC90 its sportiest variant to date.

Visually the XC90 gets some nice new 20-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, silver-effect door mirrors, a gloss black mesh front grille and tinted rear windows as well to give the R-Design a rather athletic look.

Inside, Volvo have added a leather-trimmed steering wheel complete with gearshift paddles, leather/nubuck sports seats which also features memory function for both the driver and passenger.

R-Design touches inside also include sports pedals, black headlining, upgraded interior lighting and a leather R-Design remote key fob.

The Volvo XC90 R-Design also gets the immense 12.3-inch TFT driver’s information display.

Volvo offers the Drive Mode and Adjustable Steering Force settings as standard on the R-Design to allow the drivers to choose between engine, transmission, steering and air suspension settings.

One of the reasons the XC90 is already an award winning car is due to the generous standard equipment and the Volvo XC90 R-Design is no different.

Other standard equipment includes the nine-inch touch screen system with Sensus Navigation, Volvo’s clever two-zone climate control with Volvo’s CleanZone air quality system, LED headlights, a power-operated tailgate with handsfree opening and the Volvo On Call mobile app. Quite the list of standard equipment but great value for money being offered by Volvo.

Standard safety equipment on the XC90 includes City Safety with pedestrian and cyclist detection, front collision warning and full auto brake, driver alert control with lane departure warning, and front, side and full-length curtain airbags.

There’s no doubt that the Volvo XC90 R-Design is incredibly well equipped as standard. In fact there’s no doubt that the Volvo XC90 range is very well equipped as standard.

The Volvo XC90 R-Design is available with the D5 diesel, T6 petrol Drive-E and in T8 Twin Engine petrol-electric hybrid engines. Prices of the XC90 R-Design start at £49,785 OTR.
