Retromobile, one of the biggest, most prestigious classic car shows in Europe opens its door next week in Paris.

Some of the best car clubs, dealers and museums will display just about every type of collectible car, and many manufacturers take the opportunity to show off their own heritage collections.

Alongside the show itself, one of the biggest draws are the auctions that take place during the week. French auction house Artcurial usually headlines, but RM Sotheby’s and Bonhams are strong support acts, too.

This year’s catalogues are full to bursting of fascinating, desirable cars. So much so that we really struggled to pick out out highlights. Indeed, so much so that we ran out of time to go through Bonhams’ in detail. Though a quick glance showed there is much of interest there, too.

So, here are our top picks from the Artcurial and RM Sotheby’s Retromobile sales.
