Paul Swift is not your ordinary driver. He is a seven-time British Motorsport Champion, a Guinness World Record holder, and a founder of Paul Swift Precision Driving Ltd. He is one of the most sought-after stunt drivers in the world, who has performed in countless TV shows, films, live events, and commercials. He is also a passionate instructor, who teaches people how to perform thrilling stunts in his driving experiences.
Paul’s love for driving started at a very young age, thanks to his father, Russ Swift, who is also a legendary stunt driver. Paul learned how to drive on two wheels on the family’s ride-on lawn mower when he was only seven years old. He set a world record for the longest distance on two wheels on a lawn mower, covering 230 meters. He also made his first public appearance as part of his father’s display team at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone, driving a miniature Rover Montego.
Paul soon developed his skills in autotesting, a form of motorsport that involves driving around a series of cones in the shortest time possible. He competed in regional and national championships, winning over 40 national events and seven national titles. He also represented England in international competitions, becoming the first Englishman to win a round of the Northern Irish Autotest Championship outright.
In 2007, Paul decided to retire from autotesting and focus on his stunt driving career. He founded his own company, Paul Swift Precision Driving Ltd, which provides professional stunt drivers for various projects and events. Paul and his team have worked with some of the biggest names in the industry, such as Top Gear, Britain’s Got Talent, Emmerdale, Fifth Gear, Guinness World Records Smashed, and many more. They have also performed in front of millions of spectators around the world, showcasing their amazing skills and stunts.
Some of Paul’s most notable stunts include driving on two wheels in a Ford Focus RS with James May as a passenger on Top Gear; breaking the record for the tightest parallel park in an electric car with a gap of just 13 cm; and performing a 360-degree spin in a Mazda MX-5 with Ant and Dec on board. Paul has also driven various vehicles, such as trucks, buses, tanks, motorcycles, and even wheelchairs.
Paul is not only a master of precision driving, but also a generous teacher.
