By now you should be aware that the latest generation 2015 Ford Mustang is going on sale in the UK this year, in right-hand-drive, for the first time.
Ford has finally announced prices for the Mustang range as the order book opens. They promised it would be cheap, and it is: the entry-point 2.3 EcoBoost coupe is priced at £28,995. That’s not much for a car with 310bhp.
Standard kit includes 19-inch wheels, xenon headlights, dual-zone climate control, and Ford’s Sync2 infotainment system with an 8-inch touchscreen.
The 412bhp, 5.0-litre V8 powered GT starts at £32,995, again an awful lot of bang for the buck. In both cases, the optional six-speed automatic gearbox adds £1,500, while the convertible costs an extra £4,000.
Early reports suggest the new Mustang, which finally has independent rear suspension, can easily hold its own against the best European opposition. On price alone, it is well ahead. We’ll have to reserve final judgement until we’ve seen in on UK roads, though.
