Of the half dozen drivers making their debut in the British Touring Car Championship this year, Ashley Sutton is the hottest prospect.

The reigning Renault Clio Cup is the latest in a long line of racers that have claimed that title to step up to the BTCC, and Ashley makes it with the works MG Racing squad. His MG6 GT has race-winning potential and he is well placed to unlock it, setting some eye-catching times in testing at the recent season launch event at Donington Park.

Only Motors’ roving BTCC reporter, Lewis Maundrell, was there to ask Ashley how he rates his chances for the year ahead and the origins of his race number.

Graham King is the web editor which basically means if it's on this site and it looks great then he had a lot to do with it. If it looks rubbish then that was done on the one day a year he had off. As a quiet man who loves everything about cars, Graham is not known for his talking or walking which is actually kind of ironic because his name appears in both words. Currently you will find him clicking on a mouse vigorously and uploading his passion all over the site.
