THE Jaguar range that they didn’t want to build, just got bigger.
Big Cat design boss Ian Callum has admitted that he never wanted to style an SUV for the sporty firm.
But with the entire car industry turning to the macho SUV look to meet customer desire, Jaguar and Callum have done it and with great success.
The F-Pace is already here, the first-ever Big Cat SUV and it’s an absolute stunner and their record-breaking selling model.
Next on the way is the I-Pace, a production version of Jag’s electric SUV concept which is due next year.
Now it’s the smaller E-Pace which Jaguar released a first teaser image of today. It will be a cousin to the high-selling Range Rover Evoque.
So far we’ve only seen a profile shot and this back-end, tail light and wing mirror image.
But there’s little doubt it is going to be another cracker Jag.
Jag’s confirmed the E-Pace will come with all-wheel drive and a mix of its latest turbocharged petrols and diesels.
It will start at around £28,500 and although it’s not cheap, this will be the biggest fashion accessory on four wheels.
Jaguar are now set to have a bigger SUV line-up than Porsche and close to Audi, Merc and BMW in terms of range.
Who would have thought that a few years ago. Certainly not Jaguar and design boss Callum!
