HE’S off his Blocker.
This is stunt hero Ken Block doing a heart-stopping drift in a modified Ford Fiesta up the side of a knife-edge rock with a 100-foot drop down the other side.
Yep, You Tube legend Block has released his latest “Terrakhana” video might just be the most dangerous and death-defying yet.
Taking on the desert of Swing Arm City in Utah, Block tears around rocks and dunes in his tuned Ford Fiesta RX43.
The 600hp rally monster – last seen in Gymkhana 8 – leaves a trail of sand in its wake and it gets airborne at the hands of Block.
The American “hooner”, who’s released nine previous hit videos, even admitted afterwards that the Fiesta had too much power for dirt driving but he thought he’d give it a go anyway.
Talking to Top Gear, the Hoonigan Racing Division star said: “It’s basically taking that driving style that I do in the Gymkhana videos and applying it in other unique situations.
“This new one (‘Terra’ meaning earth)… we’re doing it in a unique dirt-type situation. I’ve always wanted to take that driving style and do different things with it.”
What’s more crazy about Block’s efforts is that the Swing Arm City off-road zone is normally reserved for dune buggies and bikes – not cars.
But Block showed no fear as he completed his course before casually returning to check on the telemetry in his pop-up garage.
Block added: “There’s one hill that we call ‘knife edge’ that, if I were to go off the back side, it would be a 100ft drop to my death.
“It was fun to do it in a rally style way – you don’t normally see a car up there.”
I prefer to drive my Fiesta to the local ASDA. Slightly less dangerous.
