Kia teases full-size SUV concept for Detroit

Kia have teased a new concept car that will be unveiled next week at the 2016 North American International Auto Show.

Details are scarce as of course, it’s a teaser but what we can see is that this is a full-size SUV from the Korean manufacturer. Something that would go up against the likes of the Volvo XC90.

The concept has been designed at Kia’s California design studio and hosts a number of advanced technology features that could be found on Kia models of the future.

Again, specifics on the concept’s tech are scarce but Kia have told us that the concept features “state of the art health and wellness technology” which we genuinely can’t actually guess what it is. Whatever it is, it definitely sounds pretty good.

In terms of the design of the concept, Kia have stated that this takes the brand’s design language in “a bold new direction”. From the image we can definitely see a tiny hint of Range Rover and Volvo XC90 in the design, which isn’t entirely bad as they’re arguably some of the best looking full-size SUVs on the market.

Either way Kia hope that the concept could suggest the styling of a possible future premium SUV in the brand’s line-up.

There are currently no plans for this concept to enter immediate production and Kia have stated that decisions on which markets may receive a future production version will be made in due course.

All in all we will find out more of this concept come next week in Detroit.
