Salon Privé is arguably the country’s most refined and sought after motoring event because it brings the finest cars from the UK and further afield. First of all, it’s set in the magnificent grounds of Blenheim Palace. So, it’s a social high point for the motoring elite. Furthermore, from what we understand, there’s lobster for dinner. That’s pretty swish indeed.
Lobsters don’t rev though. Nor are they capable of ludicrous speed. Unless a high-end slingshot is involved. Good job then, that Salon Privé will be exhibiting 80 super cars this year. All as the centrepiece of the Prestige & Performance Competition. How agreeable!
The Salon Privé Supercar Show on Saturday 3rd September will see the full line-up of entrants. With eight different classes featuring in excess of 25 premium automotive brands, there’s something to whet every automotive whistle, so to speak. These include Aston Martin, Ferrari, Jaguar, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz and Pagani, as well as Lamborghini and Porsche, both of whom have special celebration classes.
Due to it being a competition, it needs judges. As such, British television presenter Quentin Willson, automotive designer Matthew Humphries, award-winning journalist Steve Cropley and Matteo Barbieri, head of Pirelli’s international commercial focus on Prestige will be on hand to select the best of the best.
The cars are broken up into categories. That way, every car has a chance of winning something. How very well considered of the organisers! The classes, in case you’re wondering, are:
- To the Track & Back
- Wind in your Hair
- Speed & Style
- The One and Only Porsche 911 Turbo
- Rival Supercars from the 80s & 90s
- Tribute to the Lamborghini Diablo
- The Best of Group B Rallying
- How Fast is Fast Enough
Gates open Saturday, September 3rd at Blenheim with tickets from £14.90. You’ll be able to see the cars, and you’ll also be able to have a mooch around Bleheim’s impressive grounds and gardens, too. If your pockets are a bit deeper and you want to enjoy the full range of supercars, hypercars and classic cars within Salon Privé, as well as those on display in the Great Court in the Pirelli Prestige & Performance Competition, a special combined ticket is available priced at £114. This option allows guests access to Salon Privé from 14.30 onwards.
