Skoda will unveil the fastest Octavia yet when the wraps comes off the vRS 230 at the Geneva Motor Show in March.
Essentially, the Skoda Octavia vRS 230 has been equipped with the Performance Pack available on its Golf GTi cousin. As the name suggests, power climbs to 230PS (227bhp), dropping the 0-62mph time to 6.7 seconds. Top speed is limited to 155mph.
That makes it the fastest production Octavia ever. Indeed, only the 3.6-litre V6-engine Superb beats it as the fastest car in Skoda’s 120-year history.
The vRS 230 also comes with GTi PP’s electronic limited-slip differential, which will sharpen up the handling considerably. The bodywork has been treated to extra sportification, as well.
Sales will start in June, with prices likely to start around £25,000.
Skoda will also be showing the Monte Carlo version of the latest Fabia in Geneva. As per previous iterations, it adds vRS-alike styling with deeper bumpers, rear spoiler, 16- or 17-inch wheels and optional, lower sports suspension. Black trim, and tinted windows and panoramic roof complete the look. It’ll be available in hatchback or estate forms, with a choice of petrol or diesel engines.
