Standing-start half-mile record set at 235mph

Warning: some strong language

At the recent Oregon Airstrip Attack event, first-time competitor Gidi Chamdi drove his twin-turbo Lamborghini Gallardo Superleggera, built by Underground Racing, to a standing-start half-mile record top speed of 234.82mph. That’s an absolute, all-time world record for a street-legal car.

It is astonishing. Especially given that the car seems to be extremely difficult to keep in a straight line, and delivers incredibly violent gearchanges.

Whatever, Gidi was ecstatic, hence some slightly robust language.
