It sounds like a ridiculous idea, but truck racing is utterly awesome.
These days the top trucks produce over 1,000bhp and have to be limited to 100mph on safety grounds. Even so, there’s not much that stops a fast-moving 5.5-ton lump of metal. Apart from a particularly solid piece of scenery. Or another 5.5-ton lump of metal.
Which means crashes are always huge and spectacular. And frequent, as no racetrack in the world is actually big enough for 30-odd trucks going flat-out in close formation.
